### Enabling DH: Estimated Delivery Date

Estimated Delivery Date (EDD) is enabled by default after you install it. Although the app is enabled, it will not impact the store unless a widget is set up in the storefront.

### **Dispatching date**

The date of the customer's order is processed, packaged, and handed over to the courier ready for dispatch. It is also called Shipping date (the date of handover to the start point of shipping).

> Factors affecting the calculation:
>
> 1. *Dispatching Working days*
>
> Which days within a week does the business operate and accept orders for processing?
>
> 2. *Processing days*
>
> How long does it take from the moment a customer's order is received to when it is fully processed and ready to be handed over to the courier for delivery?
>
> 3. *Cutoff time*
>
> What is the deadline time after which customer orders are no longer processed on the same day and are instead deferred to the next working day?
>
> 4. *Time zone*
>
> What is the time zone of your warehouse?

### **Delivery date**

The date on which your customer can expect to receive their order. If you have specific rules for the buyers' region or certain products have special logistics rules, the app fully supports customisation, which can be viewed separately in [Customise Delivery Areas](/dh-estimated-devilry-date/delivery-areas.md) and [Customise Products](/dh-estimated-devilry-date/products.md).

> Factors affecting the calculation:
>
> 1. *Delivering working days*
>
> Which days in a week when shipping is possible?
>
> 2. *Min delivery days*
>
> What is the minimum number of days it takes for an order to be shipped and delivered in general?
>
> 3. *Max delivery days*
>
> What is the maximum number of days it takes for an order to be shipped and delivered in general?

## Querying This Documentation
If you need additional information that is not directly available in this page, you can query the documentation by asking a question.

Perform an HTTP GET request on the following URL with the `ask` and `goal` query parameters:

```
GET https://docs.dirhand.com.au/dh-estimated-devilry-date/general-settings.md?ask=<question>&goal=<user_goal>
```

`ask` is the immediate question: it should be specific, self-contained, and written in natural language.
`goal` is what the user is ultimately trying to achieve, the reason they need the answer. Sharing it helps GitBook give you a better, more relevant answer. A goal is most helpful when it describes the outcome the user wants rather than restating the question. For example, with `ask=how do I create an API token`, a goal like `automate deployments from our CI pipeline` lets GitBook tailor the answer to that use case.

The response will contain a direct answer to the question and relevant excerpts and sources from the documentation.

Use this mechanism when the answer is not explicitly present in the current page, you need clarification or additional context, or you want to retrieve related documentation sections.
